New MSI Gaming Laptop To Emerge Soon [The MSI GE620DX Gaming Laptop Offers Big ... - TFTS (blog)

Another gaming laptop from the folks out at MSI has appeared before our eyes, folks, and this one looks pretty robust in terms of specs. It's the MSI GE620DX, and whether or not it's strong enough for your gaming needs should be pretty clear once we take a look at the spec loadout.

The MSI GE320DX laptop offers up a 15.6 inch display showing at 1366 x 768 resolution, and is backed up by an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 555-M graphics (complete with an extra two gig of video RAM in its own right), THX TruStudio Pro smart surround sound, a 720p webcam, and both USB 3.0 and HDMI ports for when you want to get your gaming running on a much larger screen, or just transfer files at fast, but not the fastest, speeds.

Interestingly, MSI wasn't releasing a whole lot of other information about their potent new laptop, including hard drive size or amount of RAM, but based on the current crop of statistics, it does seem like the GE320DX has a good amount of power behind it, especially in the video and audio departments. Any time you can actually get THX involved, you know the sound at least has to be high-end.

Just when this will actually hit shelves is as yet unclear also, and pricing data is also still somewhat in the dark as yet, but I personally look for it to be along in the next couple months here, so MSI can get a new model on the shelves in time for the holiday shopping frenzy, which will begin in earnest in another couple months or so here.

And as I said above, it's going to be your call on whether or not this gaming laptop is sufficiently potent to meet your gaming power needs. I'd personally say, as long as the hard drive size and RAM size are reasonably in line with the processor and audio and video augmentations this thing's got on it, it should be a relatively sharp muscle machine.

But what do you guys think here? Is this going to be the kind of hardware you want at your back during a marathon gaming session? Or is this just another laptop calling itself a gaming PC just to try and lure customers in the door? It's your call to make, so head on down to the comments section and fill us in.
1 Comment | See More in Computers & Computing
Was this post interesting?
