<div readability="79.3844875346"><p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-17077" src="http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/hpq.jpg" alt="hpq The Updated Quad Core HP Pavilion dv7t Laptop" width="300" height="196" />HP have updated the Pavilion dv7t laptop with a new Quad edition.  This powerful quad-core 17 inch notebook is designed for multimedia performance, and comes with a long and impressive spec sheet and flexible configuration options.</p> <p>The Pavilion dv7t features an Intel Core i7 processor, with the quad-core 7-2630QM CPU, i7-2720QM CPU, or i7-2820QM CPU to choose from.  The display is 17.3 inches diagonal with a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels.  Other specs include the choice of up to a 660GB dual hard drive and 8MB of DDR3 RAM.</p> <p>The design of the Pavilion dv7t sports a dark brown or steel colour, with a brushed metallic finish on top of a plastic and aluminium shell.  The keyboard sits on a glossy black backing, and comes in standard chiclet style with an included number pad and glossy touchpad.</p> <p>In terms of connectivity, there is a very good selection of ports on offer, including 2 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, a Kensington secure lock, and a multi format card reader.  While there is no Display Port or Express Card ports, pretty much everything else is included.  There is also a HP TrueVision webcam that can capture video up to a resolution of 1280 x 800.</p> <p>The graphics performance comes courtesy of an integrated Intel HD Graphics chip and a discrete AMD Radeon HD 6770M GPU with 1GB of video memory.  There is on-board switching technology that takes care of chip selection, although a number of reports are saying it is not as good as Nvidia's Optimus technology.</p> <p>This HP computer is heavily customisable, with a number of options available.  You can choose among different processors, hard drive sizes, graphics, memory, and whether you have a Blu-ray drive or not.  The base model is selling for $1,099, with a mid-range configuration likely to put you back more than $1,500.</p> </div><p><strong>GD Star Rating</strong><br /><em>loading...</em></p>
