We've seen a whole lot of big news come pouring out of the 2011 Computex show so far, and it just keeps right on rolling with Gigabyte's new laptop, the P2532. Normally we see Gigabyte connected to smaller fare like netbooks, but this laptop's got all the power of the big boys and then some. But wait until you see the price tag.

First, though, I'll fill you in on just what you're getting with a Gigabyte P2532: you'll be getting a 15.6 inch display, backed up by an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor running between two and 2.9 GHz. It's also packing an Nvidia GeForce GT550M with two gigs of VRAM, as much as eight gigs of DDR3 RAM, your choice of a 500 gig or 750 gig hard drive, two USB 3.0 ports, four 1.5 watt speakers, an eSATA / USB 2.0 combo port, Bluetooth and wi-fi connectivity, an onboard 1.3 megapixel webcam, HDMI output, an SD card slot, and a DVD burner to boot.

Pretty nice by itself, but there will even be two sub-versions of the P2532: the P2532N will include Nvidia Optimus to give you some extra battery life as well as a 1080p display, while the P2532V will be harder on the battery but give you Nvidia 3D Vision on a 1366 x 768 display.

Impressed? I am. And even better, this is expected to start retailing at around $1500 when it hits stores in a matter of weeks, this June.

I'm definitely looking at this one as a pretty nicely powered laptop, and in many cases you could probably make the case for this one as a desktop replacement. But what do you guys think? Is $1500 just plain old too much cash to shell out for any laptop no matter how good it is, or is this looking like the kind of hardware you'd love to get hands on with? The comments section is waiting below, so tell us what you think about Gigabyte's upcoming P2532 lineup!
